Our Ragdoll Breeding Program
Kitten Around Ragdolls is a TICA-registered Ragdoll cattery in Orangevale, California, in the Greater Sacramento Area. We breed one breed — Ragdolls — in our home, not in a cattery building, and we place kittens with families across Northern California and nationwide.

Genetic Testing on Our Breeding Cats
Every cat in our breeding program has a genetic panel run, and we link the actual reports on each cat's page rather than summarizing them for you.
Those panels cover the genetic markers relevant to Ragdolls, including the HCM-associated mutation and the PKD1 mutation, along with coat, color and blood type.
We want to be precise about what that means, because it's a place where breeders are often vague. A genetic panel tells you whether a cat carries a specific known mutation. It is not the same as a cardiac ultrasound. A cat can carry no known HCM mutation and still develop heart disease, and no genetic test replaces an echocardiogram performed by a cardiologist. We report what we have tested, and we don't describe our cats as “heart tested.”
We are also open about the limits of pedigree screening generally. If you are comparing breeders, this is a fair question to ask all of us, and you should be suspicious of anyone whose answer is that their lines are simply free of everything.
What Every Kitten Has Before Going Home
Early spay/neuter, performed by our veterinarian, with full recovery here before go-home. No kitten leaves intact, and you are never responsible for arranging the surgery.
A microchip, implanted here, with the number recorded in your kitten's paperwork.
Age-appropriate vaccinations on schedule, plus deworming, both written into the health record that travels with your kitten.
A veterinary clearance exam. If a kitten isn't cleared, that kitten doesn't go home — a kitten may stay longer if health, recovery or readiness requires it, and we would rather tell you that than meet a date.
A written health guarantee and adoption contract, which you'll receive to read in full before any money changes hands.
How We Raise Them
Our kittens are born and raised inside the house. They grow up around ordinary noise — a dishwasher, a vacuum, conversation, other cats — which is the part that shapes temperament and cannot be added later.
They are handled every day from the first week. By the time they leave they are litter trained, eating solid food, and used to being picked up by people who are not us.
We keep litters small enough to actually know each kitten. When we tell you one is the bold one and one is the lap cat, that's an observation, not a sales line.
What Adoption Costs
$4,500 per kitten, flat. Every kitten is the same price regardless of color, pattern, sex or eye color.
A $1,000 non-refundable deposit reserves your kitten. The $3,500 balance is due before pickup.
We accept three payment methods: Zelle, cash in person at pickup, and a cashier's check made payable to Kitten Around Ragdolls LLC. We do not accept credit cards, personal checks, Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal.

We'd rather you shopped carefully than took our word for it. Ask any breeder you're considering:

- •Can I see the genetic test results for both parents, not a summary?
- •Is your health testing genetic, or does it include cardiac imaging?
- •At what age do kittens go home, and what has been done by then?
- •What is in your written contract and health guarantee?
