Bringing Your Kitten Home: Three Options
Pick Up in Sacramento, CA
Approved adopters are welcome to travel to Sacramento and meet their kitten's family in person. Pickups and visits are by appointment only; we agree a time with you after approval, and winter conditions on I-80 and Donner Pass may mean rescheduling.
Ground Delivery to Northern Nevada
For families who can't make the drive, ground delivery with a pet courier may be possible for a fee, depending on your location. Availability, timing and cost are confirmed individually — contact us for a quote.
Meet Partway
Depending on your location and our schedule, a meeting point may be possible. This is decided case by case and confirmed with you directly.
Why Northern Nevada Families Come to Us
Here is what you can expect from us:
- •Genetic testing you can read. Every breeding cat has completed genetic testing, and the results are on our kings and queens page. DNA testing and a heart ultrasound are different examinations: echocardiograms have been completed for David Bowie, Princess (Strawberry Shortcake) and Bandit, and a parent's results are not a statement about any individual kitten.
- •A Sacramento home cattery, planned with you. Our kittens are raised in our home. Visits, pickup and any travel are arranged case by case, including around winter weather.
- •One companion price. Every companion kitten is $4,500, with no discounts. The companion kitten page lists what is included.
- •Lifetime support, regardless of state lines. Whether you're in Carson City or Incline Village, you can contact us with questions about adjustment, care, behavior and health, and we will help whenever we reasonably can. Our guidance does not replace care from a licensed veterinarian.
Not sure how to evaluate a breeder you're considering? Our complete buyer's guide walks through the credentials, questions, and red flags that separate ethical breeders from scams.
Reno and Tahoe sit at the eastern edge of our main service region — see Ragdoll kittens across Northern California for Sacramento, the foothills, and the rest of the region.
We also serve San Francisco Bay Area and Southern California families with the same TICA-registered kittens.
Reno & Tahoe Adoption FAQ
How far is your cattery from Reno?
Our cattery is in Sacramento. The trip depends on your starting point, the route, traffic and the season, so we don't quote a fixed travel time. A live map for the day and hour you plan to travel is the best guide.
What about winter — is the drive safe?
Chain controls and closures on Donner Pass are possible from late autumn into spring. Pickups are by appointment, so they can be rescheduled around the forecast. If the trip is difficult, ask us whether ground delivery is available for your location.
How much is ground delivery to Reno or Tahoe?
Cost depends on your location, timing and courier availability, so we don't publish a price. Contact us and we will give you a quote for your address.
Can I visit the cattery before adopting?
We schedule meet-and-greets after a kitten application has been approved and a deposit placed. This protects our cats from stress and protects families from the cattery-visit scams common in this breed. Visits and pickups are by appointment only. You can reach Kiki Monday to Saturday, 11am to 6pm, to arrange one, and we share photo and video updates before any visit.
What testing have your cats had?
Every breeding cat has completed genetic testing, published on our kings and queens page. Echocardiograms have been completed for David Bowie, Princess (Strawberry Shortcake) and Bandit. A genetic test and a heart ultrasound are different examinations, and neither is a guarantee about any individual kitten.
How much do your kittens cost?
Every companion kitten is $4,500 — the same regardless of color, pattern or sex — and we do not discount. Every kitten goes home spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, with TICA paperwork, a written two-year genetic health guarantee (read the terms in our sample contract), 30 days of Trupanion pet-insurance coverage (subject to the insurer's eligibility and terms), and lifetime breeder support. The written agreement you receive is what governs. See our full pricing guide for details.
