Ragdoll Kittens for Washington Families: What to Check Before You Book a Trip

If you are looking for Ragdoll kittens in Washington, you do not have to choose a breeder from one pretty photograph or a promise that sounds reassuring. You should be able to ask questions, read the records and understand how the kitten might fit into your family before you plan a trip.
Kitten Around Ragdolls is our home cattery in Sacramento, California. We welcome conversations with families in Seattle, Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland and elsewhere in Washington. We are not a Washington cattery, and we want that to be clear from the beginning. The distance is something to plan around, not something to hide.
Start With the Family Match
Tell us about the people and animals at home, your routines and the kind of companion you are hoping for. We spend time with our kittens every day, and those observations are more useful than a label such as “the cuddly boy” or “the quiet girl.” Every kitten is an individual.
Look through our current kitten profiles, photos and videos, then bring us your questions. Confirm availability directly rather than assuming that a kitten in an older post is still looking for a home. We want the kitten to become an integral part of your family, and we pay attention to the match on both sides.
Ask for the Parents’ Actual Health Records
A registry logo and the phrase “health tested” are starting points for questions, not the answers. Our currently breeding cats have genetic testing reports, and we share their reports and pedigrees on our Kings and Queens page. Young cats we are raising for the program are tested before breeding.
Genetic testing and an echocardiogram are different examinations. The UC Davis Ragdoll HCM test checks a particular HCM-associated variant; it cannot rule out every cause of heart disease. An echocardiogram is an ultrasound examination of the heart.
David Bowie, Princess (Strawberry Shortcake) and Bandit have completed echocardiograms. We are working through the remaining cats in our program. Ask which records are available for the particular parents of the kitten you are considering. A parent’s examination is not an examination of the kitten, and screening cannot promise that a cat will never develop HCM.
If you are unsure what you are looking at, our guide to reading health-testing documentation can help you prepare questions. You do not need to apologize for wanting to understand the reports.
Settle the Match Before the Itinerary
Visits to our Sacramento home cattery are by appointment. We can discuss pickup and whether an individually arranged in-cabin flight nanny is feasible for the placement. We do not send kittens as cargo. A flight on an airline’s timetable does not establish the kitten’s travel arrangements, the handoff or the cost.
Before booking, confirm who will accompany the kitten, where you will meet, what the quote includes and what happens if the plan changes. Read our Washington kitten-planning guidance alongside the individual kitten’s information.
A New Kitten Is Not the Same as an Established Pet Traveling With You
Washington’s official small-animal entry guidance distinguishes pets already owned for more than a month and traveling without a change of ownership from pets changing homes. Do not assume that the established-pet exemption covers bringing home a newly purchased kitten.
Have the veterinarian confirm the applicable health certificate and rabies requirements for the kitten’s age and entry date. Confirm the carrier’s requirements too. The state guidance and the actual placement need to be considered together before travel is booked.
Clear Pricing, With Travel Discussed Separately
Every companion kitten is $4,500, regardless of sex or color, with no discounts. Transportation costs are separate. Our companion kitten guide explains the included care; review the kitten’s records and current written agreement with us before reserving.
We love raising these cats and helping them find the right families. If you are considering a Ragdoll from Washington, tell us about your home or send us your questions. The conversation comes first.
State guidance checked October 27, 2026. Confirm current requirements with the veterinarian and carrier for your actual travel date and route.
