Ragdoll Kittens for Arizona Families
Kitten Around Ragdolls is a TICA-registered cattery in Sacramento, California. We welcome Arizona families who are willing to travel — or arrange a flight nanny — to bring home a home-raised Ragdoll from a breeder they can actually verify. We're not in Arizona, and we'll always be straightforward about that: what we offer is a transparent program, a public track record, and practical ways to get your kitten home.

Why Arizona Families Look Beyond Their Own Backyard
The right Ragdoll may be worth looking a little farther for. Arizona families have already chosen Kitten Around Ragdolls when they were willing to look beyond their immediate area for a breeder, program and kitten they could feel confident about. For buyers comparing their options, here is what they can verify about us:
- A breeder record you can verify. Our cattery is listed on TICA's official registry — TICA member since July 22, 2016 — not a claim on a website, a record you can look up yourself.
- Cats shown against the written standard. Our cats have been exhibited and judged against the written breed standard in CFA and TICA — including Supreme Grand Champion Kitten Around Ragdolls Twilight Sparkle — so the program has been measured against the standard, not just our own marketing.
- Kittens raised in our home. Our kittens grow up underfoot — handled, socialized, and used to the ordinary sounds of a household — not raised in isolation.
- Transparent, flat pricing. Every kitten is the same price regardless of color, pattern, or looks. No upsells, no “show quality” surcharge.
- Precise, honest health language. We tell you exactly what our genetic testing does and doesn't cover — no vague “fully health tested” claims.
- A public history you can read. Real cats, real litters, and real family experiences are documented on our site and our review profiles, plus an independent feature from The Cat Butler.
- Support that doesn't stop at pickup. You can text us for the life of your cat — food, behavior, health questions — whether you're in Sacramento or Scottsdale.
We'll show you exactly how our program works and give you the information you need to compare your options confidently. You can read more about our program and meet our kings and queens.

Bringing Your Arizona Kitten Home: Three Options
Pick up in the Sacramento area
Many families make it a trip. Approved adopters travel to the Greater Sacramento area and meet their kitten — and their kitten's family — in person before heading home. We schedule pickup appointments by arrangement.
Fly into Sacramento International Airport
Some Arizona families fly into Sacramento (SMF), meet us, and bring their kitten home with them in the aircraft cabin. Cabin travel is subject to the airline's own pet policies and your own booking, so you'll confirm those details directly with your carrier — we'll help you plan around them.
Arrange a flight nanny
A flight nanny is an experienced pet courier who carries your kitten in the aircraft cabin and hands the kitten to you in person at an agreed airport. Availability and cost depend on the itinerary and are confirmed individually for your placement. Our guide to how out-of-state flight nanny adoption works explains the process end to end.
We do not ship kittens as cargo, ever. Whether traveling by car or air, your kitten remains in the care of a person throughout the trip. When air travel is used, the kitten travels in the aircraft cabin. Transportation is arranged case by case and may involve an additional fee. Please confirm your exact transportation arrangements, and any related terms, in your written agreement.
How Adoption Works
- Review our available kittens and program information.
- Submit the kitten application.
- Receive an approval decision and talk through fit with us.
- Once approved, place the $1,000 non-refundable deposit.
- Select or reserve an eligible kitten.
- Confirm your pickup or flight-nanny arrangements.
- Get photo and video updates while your kitten grows.
- Complete the balance and final handoff details before your kitten comes home.
Applying is the start of a conversation — it doesn't guarantee approval or a specific kitten. We place a limited number of kittens and match thoughtfully.

How We Health-Test Our Breeding Cats
We DNA-test the cats in our breeding program. Every breeding cat receives a genetic panel that includes the known Ragdoll HCM-associated mutation and the PKD1 mutation, along with other traits and genetic information.
We're careful about what this means: genetic mutation screening is not the same as a cardiac ultrasound. Screening tells us whether a cat carries specific known mutations; it is not a heart scan and we don't describe our cats as “heart tested.” We'd rather explain exactly what we do than reach for a reassuring phrase that isn't accurate.
Separately from DNA testing, three of our breeding cats — David Bowie, Strawberry Shortcake and Bandit — have completed an echocardiogram. Each cat's status is shown on our kings and queens pages; to see a dated report, ask us.

Ragdolls in the Arizona Heat
Ragdolls are an indoor breed, which suits Arizona well. A few practical notes for desert homes:
- Ragdolls should live indoors, in reliable climate control.
- Keep fresh water available at all times.
- Plan travel and any airport handoff to minimize time in the heat.
- Never leave a cat unattended in a parked vehicle.
Ragdolls do very well as indoor companions in Arizona homes — the coat that makes them so plush simply means air conditioning and shade matter, like they do for any indoor cat in a hot climate.
Our kittens are born and raised inside our home, underfoot and handled every day.
How to Evaluate Any Ragdoll Breeder
Whether you choose us or someone else, adopt from a breeder you can verify. Before you place a deposit anywhere, check:
- Registry information you can look up independently
- Exactly what their health and genetic testing covers (and what it doesn't)
- How and where the kittens are raised
- Veterinary care and spay/neuter policy
- Socialization
- The written contract terms
- Pricing and what's actually included
- How responsive and clear their communication is
- How the kitten travels to you
- What support exists after you bring the kitten home

Arizona Adoption FAQ
Are you located in Arizona?
No. We're a TICA-registered cattery in Sacramento, California. We don't have an Arizona storefront, cattery, or representative — we serve Arizona families who travel to us or arrange a flight nanny.
Do you work with families in Phoenix and Scottsdale?
Yes — Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, the East Valley, and communities across Arizona. We arrange transportation individually, and you confirm the details in your written agreement.
How does a kitten travel from California to Arizona?
Three ways: you pick up in the Sacramento area, you fly into Sacramento and bring your kitten home in the cabin, or you arrange a flight nanny who carries the kitten in the cabin and hands it to you in person. We arrange transportation individually and it may involve an additional fee.
Do you ship kittens as cargo?
Never. Your kitten always travels in the care of a person — with you by car on pickup, or in the aircraft cabin with a family member or flight nanny by air. We do not use cargo shipping.
Can I fly into Sacramento and take my kitten home?
You can. You'd fly into Sacramento International Airport (SMF), meet us, and travel home with your kitten in the cabin. Cabin pet travel follows your airline's rules and your own booking, so you'll confirm those with your carrier — we'll help you plan.
Can a flight nanny bring my kitten to Arizona?
Yes, by individual arrangement. A flight nanny carries your kitten in the cabin and meets you at an agreed airport. Availability, routing, and cost are confirmed for your specific placement — Phoenix Sky Harbor may be discussed as a potential meeting point, but airport availability, routing and cost must be confirmed for each placement.
How much do your Ragdoll kittens cost?
Every kitten is a flat $4,500, regardless of color, pattern, or show potential.
What's included in the $4,500 price?
Spay/neuter before go-home, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, TICA registration, 30 days of complimentary Trupanion coverage, a written genetic health guarantee, and lifetime breeder support.
Is the deposit refundable?
The $1,000 deposit is non-refundable. It's placed after approval and applies toward the $4,500 total.
When do kittens go home?
Kittens generally go home at around 12 weeks, once they've recovered from their spay/neuter and been cleared by our veterinarian, with microchip and age-appropriate vaccinations complete. Some kittens stay a little longer when they need it.
Are kittens spayed or neutered before placement?
Yes. Every kitten is spayed or neutered before going home. We place companion Ragdolls only.
How do you health-test your breeding cats?
We DNA-test our breeding cats with a genetic panel that includes the known Ragdoll HCM-associated mutation and the PKD1 mutation, plus other traits. Genetic screening isn't a cardiac ultrasound, and we don't describe our cats as "heart tested." Three of our breeding cats (David Bowie, Strawberry Shortcake and Bandit) have also completed an echocardiogram; ask us for the dated report.
Can I visit the cattery?
We arrange meet-and-greets after an application is approved and a deposit is placed. This protects our cats from stress and protects families from the cattery-visit scams common in this breed. We share extensive photos and video before any visit.
Does applying guarantee that I can purchase a kitten?
No. Applying starts the conversation. We review each application, place a limited number of kittens, and match carefully — approval and a specific kitten aren't guaranteed.
What support is available after my kitten comes home?
Lifetime breeder support. You can text us about food, behavior, or health for the life of your cat, no matter where in Arizona you are.
